Family Intervention Center
The mission of the Neighborhood-based Family Intervention Center is to empower the families of delinquent and dependent youth referred by the courts and CYS, through intensive, in-home, community-based intervention strategies. These strategies hold the youth accountable to the probational terms and conditions set by the court system and the Family Service Plan created by CYS. Referrals to the program are made by the probation and CYS. This is a partnership to try and empower the family and increase opportunities for individual achievement.

Program Summary
This now-traditional service was developed to provide an intensive program for delinquent youth and their families, specifically targeting those in the Farrell and Sharon, PA areas. As part of the terms and conditions set by the court system, referrals to the program are made by the Juvenile Probation Department. We have since crossed over to the dependent youth through CYS, with the intent to provide intervention and prevention outcomes.
The Neighborhood-based Family Intervention Center (NBFIC) is a collaborative effort made up of partnerships formed with Farrell and Sharon, PA school districts, county agencies, community organizations and families. The NBFIC worker serves as a liaison between the youth, families, and identified resources. Goals of the program include enhancing positive school issues, promoting positive socialization and recreational activities, improving family-community relations, and empowering families to solve future difficulties.
