Transparenting Program

This is a program designed by Families First to assist parents with their concerns about the impact of separation or divorce on their children.

Families First is a premier not-for-profit organization providing critical, preventive services to strengthen and preserve families for more than 100 years. The seminar was initially piloted in 1988 and is now being provided in over 180 jurisdictions within 39 states. More than one million parents have successfully completed the program over the last decade.

Research indicates the effects of divorce on children can be negative and potentially long term. Children must master an additional set of tasks, as well as those posed by normal childhood development. This seminar seeks to educate parents as to ways they can help their children adjust and handle these additional tasks. Parents are given an opportunity to shift their attention from the personal aspects of the divorce to the needs of their children.
