Our History
The Children's Aid Society Of Mercer County, founded in 1889 and incorporated in 1919, is a private, non-profit, charitable organization (501 c-3) dedicated to provide for the welfare of any children who may comes under it's control, or into it's care. The Society has evolved from an orphanage, established to protect and care for children while permanent homes were found, to an organization providing a diversity of community-based services intended to protect children and assist families in the care and nurturing of their children. The Society is one of the oldest, continuously operating, social agencies in Mercer County.

Our Mission
To identify and provide services to improve the quality of life for children and families, in collaboration and cooperation with other agencies and services as may be appropriate.

Our Focus
Children, infants to eighteen years of age, and families at risk of separation for any reason are the focus of our services; that may include the children and families in the planning stages of reunification. Children are best cared for by their families - to best care for children we offer support and services to their families as well as to the individual child. Permanency, safety and well-being for children guide the direction of our services.
